Pseudo privacy and limits
What happens to your document
Section titled “What happens to your document”- Pseudo does not save your document. It processes the document in memory and sends the result back to your browser, without writing the document to disk or a database.
- It runs on Mino’s servers in the EU. Your document is not sent to OpenAI, Anthropic or any other AI provider.
- The table of real names stays in your browser. If you download a Word document, the replacements are sent along once, to rewrite the file in its own layout.
- Pseudo’s logs hold only which page was asked for, the result and the time it took, not the content.
Usage analytics
Section titled “Usage analytics”Pseudo counts visits and actions with Pirsch, a cookieless analytics service. Its server sends your IP address, browser information and preferred language. Page views also include the page address and title, referring page when available, and screen dimensions. Usage events include actions such as copying or downloading; processing events include the file type, detected document language and a banded count of replacements.
These analytics events do not include your document text, file name, detected names or replacement table.
See also Mino’s privacy statement.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”| File types | Word (.docx), pdf with text, plain text (.txt). Older .doc files don’t work: save them as .docx. |
| Size | Up to 8 MB per file |
| Length | About 40 pages (150,000 characters) |
| Scans | A scanned pdf without text doesn’t work yet |
| Languages | Dutch and English. In other languages Pseudo finds fewer names, and says so. |
| Use | 30 documents an hour |
What Pseudo does not do
Section titled “What Pseudo does not do”- It doesn’t put the real names back into an AI’s answer.
- It doesn’t save your work: a reload starts over.
- It leaves dates and amounts as they are. Remove them yourself if they identify someone.
- It does not check every part of a Word file. Names that appear only in headers, footers, comments or tracked changes may be missed. Images, embedded files, link targets and some document properties can also retain identifying information in the download. Check the exported file before sharing it, or copy only the text you have reviewed.
For AI agents
Section titled “For AI agents”Pseudo has no public API: it only works through its own web page. AI agents that receive pseudonymised text can read pseudo.mino.law/llms.txt. It asks them to use the stand-ins as given, not guess who is behind them, and not ask for the table.
