GEO data, sessions and limits
What happens to your contract
Section titled “What happens to your contract”- GEO reads your contract with Azure OpenAI, in Microsoft’s EU Data Zone. Country lookups don’t use a language model.
- It keeps the extracted text and the results for up to 30 minutes, then they expire.
- Remove contract on the findings page deletes the session and every revision straight away. A request already sent to the model may still finish.
- Don’t upload a confidential contract. GEO is a public prototype. Use the sample, a contract you’re allowed to share, or pseudonymise it first with Pseudo.
Sessions
Section titled “Sessions”A contract session lasts 30 minutes from the upload. Correcting the details doesn’t extend it. After that, the findings may still be on screen, but you can’t correct them any more: upload the contract again.
The findings live in your browser tab. Reloading the page or opening it in a new tab takes you back to the upload screen.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”| File types | pdf with a text layer, Word (.docx), text (.txt, UTF-8) |
| Size | Up to 8 MB |
| Scans | Run OCR first |
| Countries | 227 countries and territories; the Netherlands is always included for comparison |
What GEO does not do
Section titled “What GEO does not do”- It doesn’t give a risk score or a conclusion. It shows sourced facts and questions.
- It doesn’t screen parties against sanctions lists: it shows which EU regimes exist for a country.
- It isn’t legal advice. The legal judgment stays with you.
